PGH Strength & Conditioning - Patrick Herrington Jr.

Customer Spotlight: PGH Strength & Conditioning - Pat Herrington Jr.

We had a chance to soak up some knowledge from one of the best trainers in the Country, Patrick Herrington Jr. of Haines City, Florida. The FAMU Alum sat down with Crumbs To Crowns to give us more insight on his journey to becoming CEO of PGH Strength & Conditioning.

How long have you been in business? What made you get into what you're doing? Was this always a passion? or something you grew to love?

2 years officially. I traveled a bit and noticed the sports and athletes in my city were falling behind. So I decided to do something to change that. I opened a strength and conditioning facility. I walked on at FAMU and every time I came home I would be on the field working with 10-15 kids. So it was always in my heart.

What is your favorite part about doing what you do? What was your greatest fear going into your career field?

My favorite part about doing what I do is seeing the confidence rise in the people I work with. They go from quiet to competitive.

Being totally honest, my greatest fear is failing in front of people. That’s one of my deepest darkest fears. I typically don’t care what people say but I do not want to be known as a failure.

Who are some people that inspired you to do what you do? How did their knowledge impact your lifestyle? What did you learn?

The people I train inspire me. Seeing people get stronger and faster is motivating. Right now, I’m training an older woman and she is moving sooo much better and getting stronger.

But overall when it comes to trainers I would have to give a shoutout to Micah Kurtz, Bo-Jack out of Orlando, coach Hunter Wood and TA 2 Claps. Guys who don’t know they’re my mentors but I model a lot of what I do after their business.

What advice would you give yourself 10 years ago? And do you have any encouraging words for anyone who might be scared to take that leap of faith?

I would tell 19 year old Pat stay in the gym and start your business now!! For anyone scared to take that leap, my only advice is “You’re going to lose!!” You’re going to lose, so prepare for those down times. But in those times, keep your head high and get back on the drawing board because you just learned something. You just got "that" 👌🏾 much better. Now you know exactly what not to do. Continue being innovative and DON'T QUIT!!

What is your definition of Success? & What is something that you're personally proud of that you've accomplished?

My definition of success is being able to get up every morning and do what you love. I don’t define success with money because there is no true value to determine success. Peace of mind without contentment.

How do you want to be remembered? & If you could leave us with a quote of your own, What would it be?

I just want to be remembered as a guy who lived, loved, and smiled! I'd rather be the thermostat than the thermometer. My number 1 quote I have been living by since 11th grade is “No Work No Pay!"

What does "Crumbs To Crowns" mean to you in your own definition? Favorite Crumbs to Crowns Product(s)?

Crumbs To Crowns means adopting the rich mindset. No matter where I am no matter what I am doing I am wealthy and happy. Don’t let a situation define your status.

My favorite product is the “Hornet” green baller shorts. I have to stop myself from wearing them everyday!
