Customer Spotlight: Accountant - Demetrick Jordan

Customer Spotlight: Accountant - Demetrick Jordan

In our latest installment of Crowns Spotlights we had a chance to talk to one of the most talented accountants from the Polk County, FL area, Demetrick Jordan. He sat down with Crumbs To Crowns to give us more insight on his Accounting journey.

How long have you been in Accounting? Was this always a passion? or something you grew to love?

I have been an accountant for 5 years. I always knew that I wanted to major in something that correlated with business. I've always loved numbers, so I became interested in finance. The passion for numbers in general has always been there, as my best subject was always Math. Accounting/Finance was something I grew to love in undergrad. The more classes I took, the more intrigued I became.

What is your favorite part about being an accountant? What was your greatest fear going into accounting?

The problem solving and detailed oriented work are my favorite parts to accounting. My greatest fear was not being prepared for an audit. An audit is when someone comes in and checks your books to make sure the numbers are being reported correctly.

Who are some people that inspired you to do what you do? How did their knowledge/Influence impact your music?

My aunt Daisy and Twelit were two people who inspired me to pursue the accounting field. My aunt Daisy received her degree in Accounting, so knowing she could provide information for me on how the journey could be. My aunt Twelit is my mentor, she has always provided that guidance for me.

What advice would you give yourself 10 years ago? And Do you have any encouraging words for anyone who might be scared to take that leap of faith?

The advice I would give to myself 10 years ago would be to believe in myself. I know it sounds like a cliche, but I have grown a strong belief that you can honestly do anything as long as you put your mind to it. I have grown this self-confidence in myself and now I feel like my potential is limitless. If you are afraid to take that leap of faith, I want you to always remember your dreams are your dreams, do not let anyone try to diminish or put your dream in a box. They're not meant to be understood by your peers because they are your dreams.

What is your definition of Success? & What is something that you're personally proud of that you've accomplished?

My definition of success is accomplishing your goals rather they be short term or long term. Something that I am personally proud of is honestly earning my degrees (Bachelors and Masters) and getting into a doctoral program.

How do you want to be remembered? & If you could leave us with a quote of your own, What would it be?

I want to be remembered as someone who was kind. It sounds kind of vague, but my character is something that I take pride in and I want people to remember me as someone who was always kind and smiling. My quote would be "Always just believe in yourself and trust God."

What does "Crumbs To Crowns" mean to you in your own definition? Favorite Crumbs To Crowns Product(s)?

When I hear "Crumbs to Crowns," I think about the journey. The journey of starting from complete scratch and becoming something that you can be proud of. My favorite products are the Trucker hats and the hoodies.
